What is chambray fabric?
Originally from the town of Cambray in northern France. Woven in plain weave, with a warp thread (often blue) and a weft thread, it is comparable to the denim fabric (from Nimes). Less thick, it is more fluid, more flexible but quite resistant. It is credited with an apparition at the end of the 16th century.
