Le chanvre ce cannabis au récit chargé.
the field of possibilities
Hemp is an exceptional plant that is used in all types of sectors. construction and insulation material, food hemp with its seed (hemp seed) and the products resulting from its transformation (oil, proteins, etc.), production of therapeutic material , bio fuel , paper … The first bible would have been printed on hemp paper!
In its textile form , hemp has always been present in human history, we find traces of hemp woven up to 8,000 years before our time. Hemp fiber is extremely resistant , antibacterial and antifungal . This is why it was used to make boat ropes, sails, but also clothes, linen, bags, etc. Thus ship rats did not attack ropes and sails (a significant advantage in high sea).
the ideal culprit
Unfortunately it is the great forgotten, neglected of the twentieth century. Due to regulations and bans , because of certain psychotropic properties and lobbying . It is the rise of the industry of cotton and synthetic materials that accelerates its fall, despite the damage that this causes on the environment .
In the middle of the 19th century, 170,000 hectares of hemp were cultivated in France against around 17,000 hectares today… But thanks to numerous actions throughout the territory, including those of the association Lin et Chanvre Bio , Research & Development is progressing rapidly and the hope of seeing the emergence of a sector dedicated to textile hemp is more topical than ever.
our engagement
Patte de Loup has been working alongside Lin and Organic Hemp since 2018. Today there is a "general" craze around our miracle plant and we are proud of participate in the writing of a new page of hemp cultivation. Of which France is the leading European producer.
